Graceful Stephanie and handsome Patrick were married over Labor Day weekend at LaBelle Winery in Southern NH. At the end of a dry, gorgeous summer they faced a few last minute planning challenges with Hurricane Matthew impeding on their lovely day. They were expecting heavy rain, an indoor ceremony, and flight delays for important out of town guests. But, just as things usually do, everything ultimately came together smooth like washed silk.
On their wedding, the sun was out and the sky was clear. They started the day getting ready at mom’s house with their glam squad and champagne in hand. Stephanie’s hair and makeup dazzling and elegant. Her wedding dress- highlighted her feminine and graceful features – her long neck and limbs.
She didn’t have a traditional wedding party, but she asked her closest friends and family to wear black. I have to say that I love this idea and will recommend it to all who seek my opinion. It’s understated glamour. It’s the antithesis of the never ending matchity match. Every guest shining in their own song of gorgeousness. It’s sophisticated and timeless.
The ceremony was brief- they did a sand ceremony and read their own vows and then we tucked away for a short time to make portraits. I’m always drawn to wilderness and flora. The softness it creates as a backdrop with the couple center stage, but to switch things up we went inside to the wine distillery. I love the contrast in textures- the hard shiny metal with the white lace dress. The grit of industry against the tenderness of new love.
Dinner and a ruckus party followed peppered with special moments of live sax, lip-sync dance offs and a special song dedicated and performed to the couple.
I forgot to mention that Stephanie and Patrick met on a Southwest flight. Yes, folks, that is correct, the LOVE airline. Thankfully they didn’t fly United that day because taking a ride in the friendly skies is not quite as good of a story.
Congratulations, Stephanie and Patrick. I loved being a part of your wedding day.
